GAYA ISLAND RESORT WILDLIFE CENTRE

Committed to leading the way in ecological conservation, the Gaya Island Resort Wildlife Centre champions three core pillars: Proboscis Monkey Preservation, Nature and Wildlife Conservation, and educational Nature Trails.

Through ongoing research, rescue and habitat protection initiatives, the most notable being our work with endangered proboscis monkeys in partnership with Sabah Parks and the Sabah Wildlife Department, the centre safeguards Gaya Island’s rich biodiversity while fostering deeper appreciation of its natural heritage.

GAYA ISLAND RESORT MARINE CENTRE

Guided by three core pillars—Turtle Rescue, Coral Reef Restoration, and Conservation through Education—the Gaya Island Resort Marine Centre is a testament to purposeful, community-led conservation.

Since its inauguration in 2013, the centre has provided critical care to numerous endangered Green Sea turtles and critically endangered Hawksbill turtles. These turtles have been are rescued, rehabilitated and released back into the wild.

CONCIERGE

The Concierge, is available to assist you with restaurant reservations, personalised dining experiences, and cooking classes. Advance reservations are recommended to secure your preferred times.

LIBRARY

The Library, situated between the Gymnasium and Fisherman’s Cove, is a breezy open-air space offering a curated selection of magazines and multi-lingual novels. Guests are welcome to enjoy quiet reading at their leisure.

GAMES ROOM

The Games Room, open daily, offers a wide variety of games for guests to enjoy at their convenience.

GYMNASIUM

The Gym, located near the Library, is open 24 hours and fully equipped for strength and cardio training. Equipment and facilities are available for guest use at all times.

DIVE & WATER SPORTS CENTRE

The Dive & Water Sports Centre offers activities such as kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding and snorkelling excursions.. Activities are chargeable and available to guests on a first-come, first-served basis. Advance reservations are encouraged.

SWIMMING POOL

The resort has an infinity lap pool, near the Pool Bar & Lounge, with an accompanying children’s pool. We advise you to wear proper swimming attire.

With regards to swimming in the sea at both Malahom Bay and Tavajun Bay, weather, wind and water conditions can change rapidly. The colour of the flag at the beach merely provides an indication of sea conditions.

Please exercise caution, as lifeguards are not present.

SPA VILLAGE

A unique spa hideaway set in the mangroves, Spa Village Gaya Island offers a rich tapestry of treatments and programmes that reflect the cultural healing traditions of Sabah’s many indigenous people. Only the finest fresh local ingredients are utilised for specialised rice scrubs and masques of the Kadazandusun to the age-old practices of the Bajau sea nomads in creating an uplifting and unforgettable experience. Yoga and guided meditation sessions are also available.

Opening hours are 11:00am to 7:00pm. Treatments are chargeable and reservations are recommended, enquiries can be made directly at the Spa Village.
